Château Les Charmes-Godard

In 1988 the Thienpont brothers bought this property, managed by Nicolas Thienpont, which produce both red and white wine.
The Charmes-Godard white wine possesses a beautifut aromatic complexity and its ageing potentiel is remarkable.
The red wine is full of fruits and is extremely charming.

  • Surface: 4,50 hectares
  • Terroir: Mainly clay-limestone mix
  • Grape varieties: 70% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc for red wine, and 80% Sémillon Vieilles, 20% Sauvignon gris for the white wine
  • Maturation: 12 to 16 months vats and oak barrels for red wine, fermented in oak casks, then 8 months ageing on its lees with regular stirring for white wine

Château Laclaverie

This old vineyard is dominated by a square tower built by the English during the 100 Years War. This vineyard was rebuild during the 1970’s. This property of which 1985 was the first vintage, belongs to Nicolas Thienpont and is regarded as one of the best value of the appellation.
A variety of different soils (marne and limon prebbles) and a careful choice of Merlot and Cabernet, give the wine of Château Laclaverie body, finesse and balance. The wine’s delicate perfumes are expressive from the start and structure ensures excellent ageing ability.

Château Alcée

Nicolas Thienpont acquired three hectares in the Côtes de Castillon in July 2011. The vines are located on the top of the limestone plateau with rock beneath red clay. In January 2014, the vineyard grew to 6.5 hectares with new plots not far from Saint-Philippe-d’Aiguille, on a limestone plateau alternating between compact clay and very shallow soils.   • Terroir: limestone-clay soils on an asteriated limestone plateau
  • Blend: 92% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc
  • Maturation: 16 to 18 months in barrel

Château Lauriol

The name of Lauriol comes from a property  which belongs to Château Puygueraud in the commune of Saint-Cibard. The Thienpont family started to replant Lauriol in a way to create an estate by itself. Château Lauriol also produces a delicious white wine from a 5 hectares parcel of vines.

  • Grape varieties: 100% Merlot for red, and 55% Sauvignon Blanc, 45% Sauvignon Gris, for white
