The Maipo Valley is the historic birthplace of great Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon. Aquitania’s prestigious team has taken the time to understand this terroir and offer up a unique definition of Cabernet Sauvignon in this wine. Aquitania is an intense, smooth and particularly lingering wine: oak notes stand alongside fruity aromas (in particular blackcurrant), the sign of high-quality maturation.

After his successful ventures in Bordeaux, Chile, Portugal and South Africa, Bruno Prats has started his final project in Spain. He has joined forces with Stéphane Point who worked with him in Portugal and Chili from 1999 to 2008. They now make AlfYnal (100% Monastrell) in DO Alicante. Produced from carefully selected very old vines pruned in gobelet and dry-grown, AlfYnal Is hand-crafted to express the aromatic richness, the structure and the finesse of the Monastrell (Mourvèdre in France).

Standing at the same latitude as New Zealand, the Malleco Valley is one of the greatest white wine terroirs in the world. The cool climate crafts highly aromatic wines with stunning mineral notes. The Chardonnay Aquitania is harvested by hand. It stands out thanks to the quality of its maturation on the lees, giving it even greater richness and huge elegance on the palate.

An intense ruby red color. Very elegant and complex nose, which presents aromas of ripe red fruits, spices, with notes of dried fruits like figs and prunes that blend with notes of mocha and tobacco. The palate is harmonious and complex, very elegant, with a pleasant combination of fruits and spices. With soft, round tannins, this wine has great structure and a lingering finish.

Bright yellow color. Intense aromas of citric fruit, grilled hazelnut with a mineral touch. On the palate, great varietal fruit intensity enhanced by excellent acidity. The aftertaste lingers with mineral and fruity notes mixed with hints of French oak. The balance between alcohol and acidity is impressive and gives this wine a freshness, a length and an aging potential not commonly found in white Chilean wines.

In 2000, Felipe de Solminihac and the Bordeaux ‘musketeers’ of Viña Aquitania found a southern Chilean terroir offering soils which allowed Pinot Noir to express itself to the full. The success of the SoldeSol experiment helped to spur on the development of Chilean wine. Born in the cool Malleco Valley, this wine offers intense red fruit aromas. The period of aging in French oak barrels for ten months maintains its complexity, good balance, and lingering finish.
